Upcoming talk: Doing the work to unsettle ecology

I am excited to announce that I will be the second speaker in the 2023 National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) DEIJ seminar series. The talk will take place on Zoom on May 31 at noon Pacific and is open to the public.

My talk, titled “Doing the work to unsettle ecology,” will highlight that non-Indigenous ecologists must be responsible and accountable necessary from non-Indigenous ecologists. I will discuss on the lessons I have learned while working alongside Indigenous partners, while reflecting on the mistakes I have made along the way.

I will also emphasize the importance of humility in our work towards DEIJ. It’s important for individuals to recognize that DEIJ is not a singular goal that we can achieve but a continuous commitment to living and working in ways that center the needs of the most marginalized peoples among us.

I hope you will join me for my talk in the NCEAS DEIJ seminar series! Please register for any of the three talks here.
